Tesco supermarket chain wants to cancel 4,500 jobs in the UK. With the disassembly the company wants to simplify procedures and respond to customers' changed purchasing habits, until today, Tesco announced. The company, which has approximately 340,000 employees in the United Kingdom and Ireland, will provide in-house new jobs to the most affected employees.
The plans mainly affect the 153 larger supermarket chain stores. The projects were created for bulk purchases, but most customers currently purchase smaller sums, according to a statement. There will also be some changes in some of the smaller express stores.
Tesco is the UK's largest supermarket chain and global trading group. In the UK market, the company has recently changed, among other things, the competition from diversifiers such as Aldi and Lidl. Earlier this year Tesco announced a reduction of 9,000 jobs.
