Over the years, Continental's automotive supplier has supplied many electronic components with too high lead content. They even "marginally" exceeded the legal limits and reported in early June, the competent authorities said Continental.
The components in question are for vehicles especially since 2016 on printed circuit boards for example such as capacitors used. A spokesperson for Continental said that at the request, the environment did not load the parts installation.

The Continental spokesman said the company could not yet be numbered, as the main limits for various items would change in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
The speaker declined to comment on possible memoranda. That is a matter for the Federal Motor Vehicles Authority. He pointed out, however, that the boundaries were only slightly exceeded. The product quality and vehicle safety are not affected. According to the group, it is about the amount of lead from an average of 0.0003 grams with an affected element above the threshold.
As compensation for the violations, Continental presented an action plan to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Environmental Protection. According to this, the company wants to reduce the amount of lead in its electronic components beyond the legal requirements.
