As Amazon details its event series, Netflix has lost first-time subscribers to the United States.

The news passed relatively unexpectedly in mid-July. While Netflix expects 5 million new subscribers in the second quarter of this year, the number of subscribers has increased by "just" 2.7 million worldwide.
