The iPhone XI wouldn't be the only one at Apple to change three cameras. The iPad Pro would follow the same path.
Since its addition to the second generation, the iPad camera has always been a topic of debate. On the one hand, tourists are a bit annoyed, using their tablet to make pictures, and on the other hand more professional use for scanning documents.
Over time, the iPad's camera has improved, without ever reaching the quality that Apple offers with its iPhone. The brand, however, could move to the next level with the next generation of iPad Pro.
Three cameras for what?
According to Japanese analyst Macotakara, who is often well-informed about Apple's strategies, the next 12.9-inch iPad Pro could go from one back camera to three! The iPhone XI should show so many cameras. The 10.2-inch iPad Pro would only have two cameras.
Increasing the number of devices on the back could add new features to the iPad Pro. We think first of all about portrait mode, but also and especially of better support of augmented reality.
Apple is pushing more and more of the development of augmented reality experiences, and the iPad Pro is in line with the brand creator tool. It would be logical to be able to directly test these experiments from the tablet, with a better understanding of the camera device.
