The company AES Chivor has confirmed that it will be responsible for building Ecopetrol's self-generating solar plant, which would be the largest in the country with these features.
The project seeks to provide energy to Campo Castilla, a country of oil. In total, the solar park thought to have a capacity of 20.4 MW, which (according to AES Chivor) is equivalent to the consumption corresponding to 16,000 homes.
"We hope that this is not only the first, but one of the many important projects we have in Colombia," said Federico Echavarría, CEO of AES Chivor.
The area prepared for the construction of the same is 18 hectares, which is scheduled to install approximately 60,000 solar panels.
"We hope this relationship will be deepened and extended over time to fulfill the common purpose of having a diverse and sustainable energy matrix," concluded Echavarría.
About its operation in Colombia, this company has emphasized the management of large assets such as Chivor's Hydroelectric Power.
