American Airlines has started selling tickets for a new flight from Prague to Chicago, which it will launch on May 8 next year. It will be the fourth direct connection between Prague and the United States.
According to the flight plan, the airline will fly to Prague five times a week, and will be out of service on Wednesdays and Fridays (in the direction of Prague), when passengers have to use transfer routes for flights, mostly in London. The flights so far have only appeared on the American Airlines mobile app, while on the web they still offered text for the same transfer dates. When purchasing a ticket, the passenger warns that the line has yet to be approved by the authorities, but no complications are expected.
Boeing 787-8 will depart from Chicago at 18:50, arrive in Prague after 9 hours at 10:50. He will return at 12:50, Chicago at 16:05 local time after 10 hours and 15 minutes flight time.
The carrier seems to be recording single rates on-going, so it is not possible to price too much. The cheapest return tickets at the time of publication for $ 1663 in premium economy, economy class from Prague are not yet available to buy.
A new line was announced this week by American Airlines and Prague Airport in a press release. Chicago has long been one of the US destinations where most people fly from Prague, but there is no direct connection. "Chicago is one of the top 5 destinations across North America with a strong local market in terms of overall US potential. Chicago Airport is one of the main transfer points and will offer passengers a number of other connecting flights," said Václav Řehoř, chairman of the board of the Prague Airport.
The connection will be open from May 8th (departing from Chicago) until October 24th. According to estimates, Prague Airport will use more than 48,000 passengers in both directions during the season.
American Airlines has announced other new international routes this week: next year it will start flying from Philadelphia to Casablanca, from Dallas to Tel Aviv, from Chicago to Budapest and Krakow.
After Qatar Airways and Korean Air, American Airlines will be the third airline to fly the airline in Prague. It is the smallest version of the sound line with 234 seats in the Flagship Business, Premium Economy and Main Cabin classes. American Airlines entered the theatrical market just last year, when it opened a direct flight to Philadelphia.
