Activists exchanged social media sites "Facebook" and "Twitter" over the death of an Egyptian businessman, Hussein Salem, aged 86, in the Spanish capital Madrid, while news sites confirmed that "Salem" had died of a heart attack.
This comes at a time when sources from the "Salem" family have not confirmed the news of his death or not.
Hussein Salem has many investments in tourism and energy in Egypt and is a close friend of former President Hosni Mubarak.
Hussein Salem is President of HKS, a hospitality company operating the resort in Sharm El Sheikh.
Salem is one of the most famous and powerful retailers of the 1980s and 1990s, having established several resorts since the 1980s and is a co-owner of the Egyptian Eastern Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG).
