The head of Hezbollah said his government should not give in to diplomatic pressure to strip its rocket-launching squad.
Hassan Nasrallah said today that threats and sanctions will not force his group to relinquish its capabilities, including an arsenal of rockets that Israel views with concern.
Nasrallah says that Lebanon must not surrender to diplomatic pressure because "giving" will enable Israel to attack Lebanon.
His speech was broadcast on a large screen to supporters in the southern district of Beirut.
Nasrallah said that his group would respond to any Israeli attack.
His remarks came after the Israeli media reported that the Jewish state had asked the Lebanese government through a mediator to act against Hezbollah's rocket factories or to take military action.
