Paying for business trips is cheaper – standards have been revised since they have not been changed since 2002.
Changes in government regulations at the Ministry of Finance require an increase in the daily allowance for missions in Latvia from € 6 to € 16. There are also plans to increase spending limits for hotels and transport.
The ministry notes that changes are needed because mission expenses have long been inconsistent with the cost of living.
Ilmārs Šņucins, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, said: "We've seen the price change since 2002, which is a pretty significant time. It's been 17 years."
Expenditure has also been made for travel abroad, but these changes are not as significant as for business trips to Latvia. At the same time, the public authorities should remember that no additional funding will be given to cover the higher mission costs.
