Police have arrested a couple for facilitating investigations into the death of a 29-year-old man, with whom they had previously argued about a minor accident.
The remand order until August 17, against husband 40, and wife 36, was granted by Magistrate Nor Afidah Idris at Kajang Court today.
The couple was seen arriving in court around noon in separate vehicles.
Initial police investigations showed that a minor accident occurred at the Sungai Besi highway heading south along the Plus road when the victim's car ignited the suspect's vehicle.
The vehicles kept tailing each other until they stopped at an exit after the Bandar Baru Bangi junction.
"A fight broke out between the two drivers but other road users then managed to intervene and spread the situation. Both drivers then returned to their respective vehicles.
"However, the victim, who was still upset, got out of his car with a baseball bat. He then swerved and continued to hit the front of the suspect's car.
The suspect, in a state of panic, accelerated his vehicle causing the victim to be pinched between the car and the road divider.
The victim was later taken to the Nilai Medical Center but was pronounced dead while being treated.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
