Facebook apps offer all kinds of Story functionality, but it seems like Boomerang's ever-popular Instagram feature is the latest feature to be spread to other Facebook-owned apps.
According to an always reliable tipster WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp team is working on a Boomerang-style app for iOS. But the advisor adds that the feature will also land on Android.
Instagram's Boomerang feature allows you to endlessly curl videos back and forth, just like a GIF. WABetaInfo says WhatsApp sharing is similar, allowing you to curl a portion of any video that takes less than seven seconds.

The WhatsApp boomerang feature will reportedly be available in the video type dashboard, which usually allows you to select a video or GIF as the desired format before sending it. Along with these existing options, you'll find an arrow pointing to the left, indicating Boomerang as a third format.
There is no word on release date for the feature, but it certainly seems like a major addition to the platform given its popularity on Instagram. What else would you like to see on WhatsApp? Let us know in the comments!
