Sleep hormone can be an ally in the fight against prostate cancer

Melatonin, known as the hormone regulating sleep, has the potential to slow the growth of tumors. The material acts in control of the formation of new blood vessels from the already existing blood vessels of the tumor, a process called angiogenesis.

According to Renata Federighi, a sleep counselor for Duoflex, melatonin is produced naturally in response to lack of lighting, responsible for informing the body that it is at bedtime. Harvard on prostate cancer

A study conducted by Harvard University in the United States noted that satisfactory levels of melatonin can reduce the risk of prostate cancer. They tested 928 men, those who showed high levels of the hormone, the probability of developing the disease that was 75% lower.
