De Uberaba records 13 deaths from respiratory syndrome

Three more deaths from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SRAG) of influenza A (H1N1) have been confirmed in Uberlândia, by the State Department of Health Minas Gerais (SES-MG). The city now has five deaths from the disease in 2019. The city recorded 25 cases of influenza that year.

The information was published in the Bulletin of the Epidemiological Bulletin published yesterday. The Uberlandia Regional Superintendent of Health (SRS) counselor reported that, as with the case of dengue, no details were given about patients.

Also in yesterday's newsletter, another death was confirmed in the city of João Pinheiro, in the northwest of Minas, belonging to the Patos de Minas Regional Superintendent. This year the city reports four cases and two deaths.

Triangle and Alto Paranába – According to the Uberlandia Department of Health, in connection with the deaths reported Monday, two were from influenza A H1N1, two men, 32 and 60 years old. The other patient is a 70-year-old man who is a victim of the influenza A H3N2 virus.

Still according to the secretary, Uberlândia has five confirmed deaths, being 1 influenza A (H3N2) and 4 influenza A (H1N1). One of these four lived in the city of Prata.

In the bulletin published on Monday, SES-MG reported that there are 218 cases of SRAG in the scope of SRS Uberlândia. In addition there are 31 deaths divided as follows: Influenza A (H1N1): 19 cases and 4 deaths; Seasonal influenza A / H2: 5 cases and 1 death; Non-subtype Influenza A: 3 cases and 1 death; Influenza B: 1 case and no deaths; SARS by other respiratory viruses: 15 cases and 2 deaths; SARS of other etiologic agents: 2 cases and 2 deaths; Unspecified SARS: 108 cases and 21 deaths; and SRAG under investigation: 65 cases.

Regarding the fight against the disease, the Superintendent has already said that it has prepared the Regional Strategic Plan for Influenza Control. The instrument was built in an intersectional way, encompassing Epidemiological Surveillance, Assistance and Social Communication to plan, monitor, execute and evaluate actions.

In Uberaba SRS, according to the report, there are 69 cases and 13 deaths from SRAG. In the region there are four cases and three deaths from influenza A (H1N1) and two cases of seasonal influenza A / H3.

In the SRS Patos de Minas, in addition to the second death confirmed in João Pinheiro of SRAG by influenza, the report also reveals that there have been 25 cases and three deaths from SRAG. One of these deaths is from unspecified SRAG.

In the Ituiutaba region, there are 21 cases and three deaths due to SRAG.
