Volkswagen is preparing a car that no Telegraph has ever made

Volkswagen is saving something completely different.

The company has decided to make the first SUV convertible model.

Still, Volkswagen will not only cut the roof of the standard T-Roc model, but the body of the convertible is brand new.

The convertible will also have two doors and a unique design, and engineers hope to be able to achieve a similar five-star score on NCAP tests as the standard T-Roc.

The new model will only operate two engines – a 1.0-liter 113-horsepower engine and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit delivering 148 horsepower.

Prices will be announced next year, with Volkswagen bosses claiming to be under € 35,000.
