Slovakia is rarely found. "But we are afraid that this situation will worsen," he says.

The basis for prevention and treatment is not drugs, but not pharmacological measures, namely healthy diet and exercise. "A big role plays as parents lead the children to live properly. It is very important for children to have their exercise entertained, so a good choice is not to exercise on a bike, but for example skating, dancing or stinging, " Says Scharner. However, it is important for diabetes to be an entire society.

"Genes allow type 2 diabetes, but they do not do it," he said. Says Viera Doničová from SDS. Genetic susceptibility to the development of type 2 diabetes is not a sufficient condition for the occurrence of the disease. "Risk factors such as the incidence of diabetes in direct family relationships or high blood sugar levels in the past are important. Patients with a particular risk factor should be checked once a year. Even in patients who do not have a risk factor, it is recommended to check your blood glucose every three years. According to the 2002 Diabetes Prevention Program, people who raised blood sugar levels reduced the risk of diabetes by 31% compared to patients who had no active substance. Exercise reduced the risk of diabetes by 58%. "It's never too late to start practicing or changing your eating habits," says SDK Chair Katarina Rašlová.
