US company Honeywell in Partizánske has dropped orders and plans to lay off employees

The company, which hired more than 540 people at the end of last year, is expected to leave about twenty workers by mutual consent. According to race coach Marek Kubovčík, this is a reaction to the seasonal decline in orders in summer and this happens every year.

He acknowledged, however, that this year the number of people leaving the race is slightly higher. However, he said the situation could be reversed in the fall.

"I don't see it as a major difference from previous years," Kubovčík told SITA in response to the number of people they agreed to stop employment this time. He added, however, that no one was fired, and everyone who is leaving now has accepted the proposed volunteers.

The number of orders could increase

According to current estimates, however, as he may have been in September or October, the company is commanding growth again and may need employees again. "The forecast says orders will grow. But it is premature to say in which volumes, " he added.

The Honeywell Safety Products factory in Partizánske manufactures, among other things, plastic protective products, metal gloves, textile and leather parts protective products, glass for protective products and shoes.

The company, which is part of the US stakeholder Honeywell International, last year managed to increase sales of its products by 46% to 39.3 million. euros. However, its net profit fell by 5.3 million. EUR in 2017 up to 1.2 million last year. euros.
