Suburban shelters are becoming more and more picnic.
People prefer to travel a few miles from Ljubljana, where they combine lunches or dinners with short or longer trips and even sleep after dinner. Those who once jumped to the sidelines or the outskirts of a business lunch but now prefer to stay in the city center where there is no transportation problem should the eater accidentally drink something else.
In short, shelters around Ljubljana are taking on a new role, they may no longer visit them massively, but are developing in other ways, with projects no longer necessarily linked to the Slovenian trio of beef soup / piece of meat / apple roll. Now in the kitchen, they travel from organic to extreme copyright cuisine, through interesting wine lists to Italian flavors.
1. (2.) Casa Grič (Šentjošt nad Horjul)
With its vision of contemporary cuisine, its acidification, drying, smoking and fermentation of ingredients, Luka Košir is one step ahead of the competition in the Ljubljana region, in fact it is at the top of Sweden. But do not be afraid that the food is too exotic – the excellent list of foods in Grič emphasizes local meats, fish, vegetables and fruits. For the tasting you will deduct about 50 euros per person, the offer of wines and spirits is solid, but Šentjošt loves both culinary tourists, hikers, cyclists and winter riders.

2. (1.) Skaručna Inn (Skaručna)
For 98 euros, the unforgettable Slavc Žagar will offer you the longest carousel of your dishes (four cold appetizers, four soups, two hot appetizers, two main dishes, three desserts). Food – which was once probably another dish on the agenda – is best associated with organic, natural or orange wines. Of course there is also something less extreme, like champagne or a glass of cviček, to say nothing about the sweet brandy waiting at the bar.

3. (3.) Kirn Inn (Lake)
The legendary inn on the Ljubljana Marshes doesn't change much. They are open only on weekends, other days only with reservations, and still offer seasonal dishes under the home chef's pen. The dishes, which have their roots in the prestigious Ljubljana cuisine, are accompanied by the inexpensive innovations that the owner finds in the vineyards of Slovenian winemakers. For around $ 30 per person, you will eat boldly, in places where Europe's greatest politicians have ever eaten.

4. (-) evergreen
The restaurant in the golf center, which caters primarily to the hunger of athletes, has recently advanced. The to-do list is quite interesting, though it is mostly dishes that help tired athletes regain their lost energy. At the same time, the new chef offers a tasting that costs 85 euros in the longest version. For champions who want to toast after a sports fight, they have plenty of sparkling wines, including champagne, unlike, as in all Kaval outlets, Belize is the largest.

5. (4.) The Cube Inn (Crenda Komenda)
The market in Križ near Komenda is home to one of the oldest operating shelters in our country. They say they've been cooking since 1934. Along with relatively well-known dishes from Slovenian cuisine, they also prepare for you a $ 35 six-course tasting menu and a hello from the kitchen. They also have a serious vegan offer and wine list where all our favorite and the best wines in the world are located.

6. (5.) Kovač Inn (Tomacevo)
Only a tavern stays at Kovac, and it's good. Reliable traditions offer nothing new, but the classics they cook are delicious, whether soups, steaks, horse steaks or fish. The main guests are still well-established retailers, and the prices are surprisingly moderate. With the relatively predictable food offer, there are a few small surprises in the wine offer that are constantly complementary. Have about $ 35 per person per meal.

7. (6.) Mrs Ampezzo (Imeno)
One of the friendliest inns around Ljubljana, in the hills just before Moravci, where the Piedmontese chef prepares Italian specialties. Baguna cauda, squid in spicy tomato sauce with capers, lots of pasta, Florentine … The summer view of the valley is especially pleasant, the wine list is solid, more Italian than Slovenian, and the price of food is around 40 euros per person.

8. (7.) Restaurant Repnik (Kamnik)
Repnik cooks delicious home-cooked meals at weddings in his garden, restaurant and many sports activities. The excess offer is probably the most orthodox offering of Kamnik flavors, as they were called the local cuisine of these places years ago. At Repnik, where you are also transported, you can quickly eat simple snacks and lunches, and for tired eaters and tourists they also have rooms.

9. (8.) Trnulie Estate (Black Town)
The large organic farm in Barje has slightly changed working hours, which means they are open not only on weekends but also on Fridays. Occupation in the kitchen is also refreshed, while the very concept of extremely organic food, where most ingredients are grown on their own land or helped buy from the nearest organic food producers, remains unchanged. Even the wines – the map wonderfully wide – are organic. Lunch costs a good $ 25, and if you eat to order, about ten more.

10. (9.) Inn of Kopač (Brezovica)
We will not be mistaken to say that Kopač is the most domestic hostel in the vicinity of Ljubljana. A classic without great philosophy. The main roles are beef soup, fried meats, rolls and the like. They rarely make the news, but it is true that they have recently improved their wine offer. They are still one of the cheapest sharpeners in your field, and you earn a lot for $ 20.
