Study: "Type 2 diabetes" increases the risk of heart disease

A recent study showed that more than 52% of type 2 diabetics lose their lives due to cardiovascular disease, with type 2 diabetes leading to an increase in cardiovascular diseases associated with diabetes.

The Emirates Diabetes Association unveiled the results of a survey of Type II diabetics conducted by Ipsos, a global research and consulting firm, to understand how to manage the disease and the patient's daily life as well as knowledge about the risks of diabetes-related cardiovascular disease.

With the support of Boehrenger Engelheim, one of the world's leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry, the company launched an awareness campaign called "Close to Your Heart," which highlights the knowledge gap between type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the UAE.
