Earlier in court, Kadungure denied claims of Duping Gatawa and Nduna.
Kadongura said he would not have taken the money if he knew it was coming from the YOYO, because he had never dealt with it, although the two knew each other at social events.
Asked by prosecutor Ephraim Zinyandu why he was not involved in Chivayo during his initial detention, Kadungure said the police knew the businessman was involved, but were reluctant to arrest him because of his political connections.
He said that Chivayo was untouchable at the same time and the police could not stop him.
When asked why he returned some of the money, which he claimed was taken from the complainants, Kadungure said he wanted to maintain his reputation.
He said he went to any important office, including a meeting with former First Lady Grace Mugabe, to resolve the case.
Kadugungura said he had tapes of Chiavio apologizing and telling people that his hands (Kadunghura) were clean.
Magistrate Morgan Namadeer rolled over the case until November 30.
